Baccarat table with dealer mixing cards.

The object of this game is to have a hand with 2 or 3 cards whose value is closer to nine than the dealer’s hand.

Baccarat is an odds casino game where you need to calculate the best value of your probabilities in order to increase your winning ratio. It is a comparing card game but differs from other card games like Blackjack.

The value of the cards:

  • numbered cards are worth the score of the card itself
  • 10, Jack, Queen and the King are worth 0
  • the axis is worth 1

If the value of your cards is greater than 10, then subtract 10. So a hand with 8 and 9 is worth 7 (after subtracting 10 from 17).

Baccarat Rules

In Baccarat, 2 hands are dealt – the Dealer’s hand and the Player’s hand. Before each deal, the player bets on which of the Dealer’s hand and the player’s hand is closest to 9. The player also has the option of betting on a tie (i.e. that the value of the Dealer’s hand and that of the player are the same).
l Baccarat or Baccarat is a card game that is distributed by a Sabot that can contain from 6 to 8 decks of cards. The dealer deals two hands, the “dealer” hand and the “player’s hand”. Before the cards are dealt, bets must be placed on the dealer’s hand and the player’s hand or on a tie.

Winning bank or player bets are paid even money (1: 1), however a 5% commission is retained for bank bets which are then paid 0.95 to 1. Some casinos may retain a lower commission (for example, at the time of writing the Binion Horseshoe of Las Vegas charges 4%). Some sources report that tie bets are paid 8 to 1, while others claim that such bets pay 9 to 1, so it may depend on casino to casino. If there is a tie, the bank or player bets are returned.

Once the bet is placed, there are no more decisions to make – both the dealer’s hand and the player’s hand are dealt according to fixed rules, leading to the final hands of two or three cards each.
The value of a hand is determined by adding the value of the individual cards that make it up. The tens and face cards are worth zero, while the other cards are worth the number of “suits” on the card itself. Only the last digit of the total is counted, so all baccarat hands have a value between 0 and 9 inclusive. The hand with the highest value wins; if the hands have the same value the result is a tie.

The game begins by dealing two cards for the player’s hand and two cards for the dealer’s hand. A starting hand that has a value of 8 or 9 is called a “natural”. If one of the hands is natural the player who holds it must show it and the game ends. Otherwise the game continues first with the player’s hand and then with the dealer’s hand, according to the following rules.
